Set within a forested expanse of Breckenridge, this 5,240-square-foot residence brings a Scandinavian-inspired vision to life: minimalist, intentional, and grounded in its alpine surroundings. The clients combined two lots to allow for a long, mostly single-level home that blends clarity of form with layered detail. Gable volumes wrapped in dark-stained wood and standing seam metal extend into the landscape, while expansive glazing blurs the line between indoors and out. Clerestory windows draw natural light into the kitchen and dining areas, and a palette of wood, stone, and metal adds warmth, contrast, and cohesion throughout the home.
Arriving with a spreadsheet of space requirements, the clients offered clarity that shaped the process. We honored their vision while enhancing key areas, like expanding the primary suite, ensuring the home met both their ideals and the site’s potential.
"I can do some of my best work up here and that is influenced by the design of my house."
The home is a study in how glass can shape experience. From the office’s distant views of Keystone to the living room’s perfectly framed mountain backdrop, every window invites the outside in, creating a quiet, immersive connection to the surrounding woods and peaks.
