Set within the Highlands neighborhood of Breckenridge, this 6,540-square-foot mountain modern home was designed as a true gathering place, elevated in both form and function. Originally envisioned with a more traditional roofline, the design evolved after the client was inspired by a curved barrel-roof silhouette seen during a visit to town. The final result integrates sweeping roof forms, exposed trusses, and a palette of wood and stone, creating a striking yet grounded architectural language. Expansive living spaces across two levels accommodate a large family, while large windows, sliding doors, and sculptural beam work invite the outdoors in and elevate everyday living.
The barrel-style roofs were a late but defining addition, an idea sparked by the client’s exploration of the surrounding neighborhoods. That moment of inspiration reshaped the home’s character, making it uniquely expressive and visually memorable.
With its generous footprint and intuitive layout, this home was designed to host. From the oxygen bar to the three-sided fireplace and sculptural beam details, every space fosters connection, offering warmth, personality, and room to gather, linger, and return.
